Mezzanine Guard Rail, Extruded 850 Series Brass Cap, 1 ½” Square brass twin vertical posts, iron spindles and pickets, custom bronze casting –Chateau Laurier Crest, Custom bronze castings-leaves, all mechanically fastened and installed..

THE CHALLENGE

To replace the mezzanine guard rail overlooking the main lobby of The Chateau Laurier Hotel: with minimum disruption, full attention to existing detail, in minimum time and at a reasonable budget.

THE OBJECTIVES

To value engineer and choose appropriate materials and design for a rich, old look, safe, secure, guard railing system on the mezzanine level of one of Canada’s most beautiful and majestic Hotels.
* Must meet all current by-laws.
* Must look like it was installed when building was built, decades ago.
* Must attain a certain budget figure.
* Must be complete in six weeks from final decision to turn over.

THE SOLUTIONS

	Appropriate materials? A brass/bronze and iron combination reflecting the rich original interior design of the lobby.
	Custom form the iron spindles and pickets using original Chateau Laurier material as templates.
	Utilize square tube posts made with1 ½” brass tubing. (not round)
	Custom Cast the Chateau Laurier LOGO in bronze to center each ironwork section.
	Custom Cast each leaf in bronze (on the terminus of each rounded iron spindle), to add discreet detail and merge in the black and bronze color schemes.
	Total railing system components AND installation to be mechanical.

Utilizes

as the top cap
for added richness
